Setting Aside Time for Yourself

I am a person who needs some time to myself every once in a while. That has been one of the most challenging things about working a full-time job that requires weekend and night work too. 

I love to hang out with friends and be social, but some nights I just need some time to myself. I recently moved to a new Airbnb, but for over a month, I was living with a few roommates. I felt obligated to hang out with my roommates whenever I was home. It was difficult because I would leave the house first and I would get home last. All of my roommates had time in the day to themselves at the house, so when I got home, to them, it was time to all hang out together. 

Don’t get me wrong, I had a great time with my roommates (until the end, that’s another story), but I also found myself often getting stressed about not having any time to not only take some time for myself, but also prepare everything for the next day or do basic chores. 

I know that I’m not obligated to hang out with everyone at the house, but it is difficult to find time for both. 

It’s always difficult to get used to a new schedule and way of life, and I am definitely still figuring it all out, but I finally found something that makes me feel like I have some time to myself and I can do it while commuting to work (I have a fairly long commute). 

I am passionate about living a healthy lifestyle. I love to eat healthily and stay active.

I enjoy watching YouTube videos from people who share their life and focus on living a healthy lifestyle. 

One of my favorite YouTube channels is Sarah’s Day. I recently discovered that she also has a podcast

I absolutely love listening to the podcast. I can concentrate on the podcast and not think so much about everything I am stressed about or have to do. It is the perfect way to do something that I enjoy while commuting. 

I was having a hard time with the commute because it is so long, but listening to this podcast makes me feel like I have some time to myself to do something that I enjoy. 

It makes the commute better and it makes my mindset better. 

Finding time for yourself can be difficult and it may take some time, but even something as small as listening to a podcast in the car can be beneficial. 

Make sure to take some time to do things that make you feel relaxed and happy. It can positively impact your day-to-day life.
